The origin of Allen Pritchett & Bassett, LLP was set in December, 1968, by Jimmy Allen. We are currently one of the larger CPA firms in the South Georgia area, with over 30 members on our team. We have built a stellar team which offers outstanding services to our clients. The team at APB is a diverse one, comprised of highly educated and experienced accountants and business consultants. All team members strive to assist our clients with their business development programs.
Our team is unique in that we have many team members who have received specialized certifications in the areas of business valuation, estate planning, financial planning, and healthcare. We also have team members with diverse skills in the areas of professional service organizations, agriculture, construction, retail, fast foods, nonprofits, and more.

Allen Pritchett & Bassett, LLP, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The firm as well as several members are licensed to practice in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.

The Principles of the Code of Professional Conduct of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants express the professions’ recognition of its responsibilities to the public, to clients, and to colleagues. They guide members in the performance of their professional responsibilities and express the basic tents of ethical and professional conduct. The Principles call for an unswerving commitment to honorable behavior, even at the sacrifice of personal advantage.
Integrity & Objectivity
The AICPA states:
In the performance of any professional service, a member shall maintain objectivity and integrity, shall be free of conflicts of interest, and shall not knowingly misrepresent facts or subordinate his or her judgment to others.

Protection of a client’s privacy policy becomes more important as each day passes. Several years ago, APB adopted the following privacy policy:
Congress has passed major changes to the laws that govern the financial services industry, including those designed to safeguard individual privacy. All providers of personal financial services, including CPAs, are now required by law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client financial information. We recognize that an individual’s financial matters are extremely private and sensitive in nature. These new laws and regulations, combined with our long-standing firm policies and professional standards of confidentiality enable us to protect your privacy and at the same time, provide you with a board range of high quality services.

Records Retention Policy
APB will maintain copies of certain pertinent records associated with our professional engagements. Our engagement letter will set for the terms of our records retention policy. Our general standard is 7 years from due date of the engagement.
