Frank Sauls was recently highlighted by the Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation along with Dr Burton as Foundation Founders.
About the Foundation:
Contributions in the early 1980’s from the John H. Dorminy Foundation and the Rankin Family brought Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Foundation to life. Each family wanted to help people experiencing financial hardship due to medical expenses. Another goal, ensuring quality health care in the region for “all of time” was shared among the initial donors.
However, at that time, there was no formal avenue for donors to contribute and for those contributions to be distributed; as a result, the Tift General Hospital Foundation was formed. From this humble beginning, the present-day (501) (c) (3) Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation has grown to 3 million in assets with 100 members; members who, just like the Rankin and Dorminy families, want to help those in medical crisis and to ensure quality health care for the Tift Regional service area.
The assistance the Foundation gives is tangible and provides real-world impact. From programs helping with patients with medical bills, living expenses, medication, transportation to treatments to equipment purchases such as automatic external defibrillators and scholarships to ensure a well trained work force, the Foundation contributes to the betterment of health care in South Georgia every day.
If you are interested in being a part of the Foundation, please give us a call. Whether your interest is charitable giving from a tax or estate planning viewpoint, a corporate donation or in making a contribution to help families in their time of need, Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation is an organization worthy of your consideration.
APB LLP is proud to announce a $8,500 donation to the Tiftarea YMCA. The funds will help promote the Y’s mission which is focused on Christian Principles. “The Y has and is doing a lot to enhance the lives of the citizens of Tifton and the surrounding communities. We, at APB, are thankful we are able to give to help them continue to be able to do so.” stated Christy Kunes, CPA. “I have served on the Y’s board and was treasurer for many years and feel the Y has a special niche when it comes to their mission, purpose and values. It offers something for the whole family by providing quality programs, activities, and facilities.”
Since 1968, APB LLP has supported many local charities and will continue to do so in honor of our business partners and friends – our customers.
We are proud to announce that staff CPA Keri Jones was selected as one of this year’s 40 Under 40 by Georgia Trend Magazine. According to the magazine, “For the 18th year, Georgia Trend presents a group of 40 outstanding Georgians under the age of 40 – the state’s best and brightest. The honorees represent business, government, politics, nonprofits, science, conservation and education.”
Ms. Jones was also recently featured in the Tifton Gazette.
Here is Ms. Jones’ feature from the Georgia Trend article:
Jones has a local reputation as a “leadership junkie,” a moniker that suits the community-driven Tifton CPA just fine.
“When it comes to personal leadership development, I soak it all up,” she says. “I enjoy learning from others and passing it on.”
Bettering her hometown also is part of the 2013 Leadership Georgia graduate’s fiber; among Jones’ service ventures, she co-founded Tiftarea Young Professionals and helped spearhead Tift County’s recent Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) campaign.
“My favorite community service activities are ones that invite input and allow collaboration and participation,” she says.
Jones returned to school five years into a marketing career to become a CPA. At Allen Pritchett and Bassett LLP, she helps nonprofits and others with their financial reporting needs.
“I like learning what challenges [clients] are facing and then developing efficient and effective strategies to help them reach their goals,” she says.
We would also like to congratulate MJay Hall of Kelley Manufacturing Company, also from Tifton, on being selected to this year’s list.
Stafford School of Business Small Business Management’s class received business insights from Keri Jones. Ms. Jones, CPA at Allen, Pritchett & Bassett, LLP, shared her expertise with students about managing accounting and financial statements.
